What we alter

Six kinds of work, done properly

How it works

Four steps, fifteen minutes

  1. Walk in. Bring the garment and, where it matters, the shoes you will wear with it. Trouser length cannot be judged without them.
  2. Pin and quote. We pin the change on you and price it before any work starts. You approve the quote first.
  3. The work. Taking in, letting out, hemming, relining, zips, seams and repairs. Bridal and matric dance gowns included.
  4. Collection. Try it on before you leave. If something is still not right, we fix it.

Questions

Before you come in

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk into any branch with the garment. We pin the change on you and price it while you are there, and no work starts until you have approved the quote.

Do you alter garments I did not buy from Flux?

Yes. Most of our alteration work is on garments bought elsewhere, including bridal gowns. Some garments cannot be altered well, and we will tell you that rather than take the money.

What should I bring?

The shoes you intend to wear with it. Trouser and skirt length cannot be judged without them, and it is the single most common reason a hem has to be redone.

What does an alteration cost?

It depends on the garment and the work. We price it in front of you before anything is cut, so you decide with the number already in hand. A deposit may be asked for on larger jobs.
