Privacy Policy

Who we are

Flux Bespoke Tailor is a South African bespoke tailoring business, trading since 2014. We make garments to measure for men and women, carry out alterations, and hire out suits for weddings, matric dances and events. This policy covers our website and everything that happens across our branches.

We handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Information we collect

Depending on which of our services you use, we may hold:

• Contact details — your name, phone number and email address, given to us in person, by phone, by email or over WhatsApp.
• Measurement data — the body measurements taken during a consultation or fitting, used solely to cut and fit your garments.
• Appointment details — the date, time, branch and service for your consultation or fitting.
• Order records — what we are making for you, the fabric chosen, and the progress of the work.
• Hire records — which garment you hired, the hire period, and the deposit held against it.
• Communication records — messages you send us by email or WhatsApp, and our replies.
• Payment records — amounts and reference numbers. We do not store card details. Card payments, where offered, are handled by a third-party payment provider.

We do not collect sensitive personal information beyond what is genuinely needed to do the tailoring work you have asked us for.

How we use your information

We use what we hold to:

• Answer your enquiries and confirm bookings.
• Schedule and manage your consultations and fittings.
• Cut, make and track your garments.
• Manage a hire booking, including the return of the garment.
• Keep you updated on your order, and send appointment reminders where you have asked for them.
• Meet our obligations under South African tax and company law.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies. It loads no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party tracking scripts of any kind. There is nothing here building a profile of you, and nothing to opt out of.

Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs — the request, the time, and the IP address it came from — which exist to keep the site online and defend it against attack. They are not used to identify you or to advertise to you.

If we ever add analytics, this section will be updated before it goes live, and the "last updated" date above will change.

How we store and protect it

Your information is stored securely, and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. This website is served over an encrypted connection.

Measurement and order records are kept in our own branch systems and are seen only by Flux staff who need them to complete your work.

When we share it

We share your information in three limited situations, and no others:

• Our hosting provider, which serves this website and keeps the server logs described above.
• Payment providers, where you choose to pay by card, so that the payment can be processed.
• Where South African law, a court order or a regulator requires it.

Your measurements are never shared outside Flux Bespoke Tailor.

How long we keep it

• Contact and appointment records — three years.
• Measurement records — kept for as long as you remain a returning client, so we do not have to measure you from scratch each time. Deleted on request.
• Hire records — three years.
• Payment records — five years, as South African tax law requires.

You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time, and we will, except where the law requires us to keep a record.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to fix anything that is wrong.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information.
• Objection — object to the way we are processing it.
• Complaint — take the matter to the Information Regulator.

To exercise any of these, email us at info@fluxbespoketailor.co.za. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

Our Information Officer

Under POPIA the head of the business is the Information Officer by default. Any question about this policy, or any request about your information, can be sent to info@fluxbespoketailor.co.za or 082 430 6019 and it will reach them.

Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults. Where we make a garment for someone under 18 — a matric dance suit or dress, for instance — the booking is made by a parent or guardian, who consents to this policy on the child’s behalf.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the "last updated" date and version at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use our website or our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
