Flux Northgate is inside Northgate Shopping Centre at Shop 234A, on the corner of Northumberland Avenue and Olievenhout Avenue. Park at the entrance nearest us and it is a short walk in — covered the whole way, which matters on a Highveld afternoon in summer.
The windows here lean towards occasion wear. The dinner jackets and evening pieces are what you see first coming down the corridor, and there is usually something in velvet or brocade on a mannequin. Behind the display it is a working studio: a tailor and a fashion consultant on site, measurements taken at the glass table, fitting rooms at the back.
Sunday trading runs to 15:00 here — later than most of our Johannesburg branches — so this is a practical choice if Sunday is the only day you can get in for a fitting.
